Servings: 4

  • 1 package silken tofu
  • ¼ lb ground pork
  • 2 tbsp dried shrimp, (optional)
  • 2 stalks scallions
  • 1 red chilli, (optional)
  • 1 tsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • ½ cup water
  • salt, to taste
  • sugar, to taste
  • ground white pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • If you are using the dried shrimp, soak them in warm water for 10 minutes. After, drain the shrimps and chop them up.
  • Next, prepare the ground pork and other ingredients. Season the pork with some salt and pepper. Set aside. Then, slice your scallions and red chillies, if using, into long diagonal strips.
  • Now it’s time to steam your tofu. Use a pan or pot with a lid. Fill it with about 1 to 1 ½-inch of water and place some spoons upside down to prop the plate on. Cover the pot and bring the water to a boil. Put your block of tofu onto a plate and then carefully place the entire thing into the pot to steam. Steam the tofu for 5 minutes.
  • After, heat up a wok or pan and stir-fry the ground pork and dried shrimps until it becomes fragrant. Add in the water, oyster sauce, soy sauce and bring it to a simmer. Add in scallions, red chillies if using sesame oil, salt and sugar to taste and the white pepper powder.
  • Quick stir-fry everything together for 30 seconds to a minutes.
  • Pour the stir-fried pork on top of the steamed tofu and serve hot with rice. Enjoy!
